Jon Davis is a United States Marine Corps veteran turned writer and blogger, currently focusing on military, international defense, and veterans’ welfare and empowerment.

Jon was honorably discharged from the United States Marine Corps and is a veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom. He became a writer while serving in the Iraq theater in 2005 and again in 2007. The activity became a productive outlet to the strain, stress, and tedium of long deployment and training work-ups.

Currently, Jon is a contributing writer for We Are the Mighty and his work has been featured in Newsweek, Forbes, Gizmodo and many other sites via partnerships through Quora. He is also the author of the military science fiction webnovel The Next Warrior.

Besides writing, Jon is currently employed as a middle and high school teacher, and publisher for education related articles and tools for teachers. He is also active as a Youth leader with his local church. He graduated with honors from the University of North Texas with a degree in Business Management.

  1. I’ve known Jon most of his life. He grew up with my boys. I am proud to say that he has evolved into a wonderful young man. I can attest to his being opinionated and narcissistic. Truthfully, he can be a downright P-I-A sometimes. but then again, can’t we all.
    I am as proud as an adopted mom can be.
    Keep up the good work Jon boy. God has blessed you with a wonderful gift of words.

  4. Noticed some grammar issues: ” I’m is also a writer of military science fiction with his.” Since the rest is in first person, I think you were going for “I am” and “my,” right? Feel free to delete this comment.

  5. I really like your series on what can be learned from war. Is there a series tag you’re using, or another way I can link to all the parts of the series (both to read and to share with others).
